Q&A: How Do I Practice at Home?

This is in response to students asking where they can find resources to help them practice at home when they can't make it to class. This post will focus on online videos because:
  • They're immediately available. No need to wait for a DVD or book to ship. You can get started right away.

  • Many are free. You can try a wide variety to see what you like without any risk.

  • You get more bang for your buck. Instead of constantly doing the same sequence over and over again, for about the same price as one DVD you can get unlimited access to a library of hundreds or thousands of videos for a month. Do a different practice every day and never get bored. This ties into the next point...

  • You can customize your practice. Only have 20 minutes? No problem, you can find tons of shorter sequences. Tight hips today? Search for a class that focuses on hip openers. Every day is different, and the practice that was right for us yesterday isn't always appropriate for today.
This is by no means a comprehensive list - but this will give you several good places to start, with options for every budget and level.
